EOGView

EOGView is an eyesight monitoring system that uses electrooculography (EOG) signals — the electrical potentials generated by eye movement — combined with machine learning to deliver real-time insights into eye movement, eye fatigue, eye health, overall health, and behavioural changes.

Applications

  • Early detection of vision problems — analysing eye-movement patterns to surface issues before they become symptomatic, allowing for timely intervention.
  • Eye fatigue management — continuous monitoring to assess strain, and recommending breaks or exercises when fatigue is detected.
  • Hands-free device control — measuring gaze direction precisely enough to control devices through eye movement alone.

Key advantages

  • Non-intrusive sensing. EOG measures naturally occurring electrical signals; no cameras pointed at the user, no contact with the eye itself.
  • Cost- and resource-efficient. EOG hardware is dramatically cheaper and lower-power than camera-based eye tracking, making continuous everyday monitoring practical.
  • Privacy-respecting. Because it does not capture imagery, EOG-based monitoring is inherently more secure than video-based alternatives.
  • Versatile platform. A single sensing approach supports clinical use cases (vision health), workplace use cases (fatigue), and assistive use cases (device control).
